That's despite enjoying a wandering career that started at Blackpool and took him everywhere from Sligo Rovers to Huddersfield.
Jones, above, admits it will be less of an SPL fixture this afternoon than an old pals' reunion with international team-mates such as David Healy, Kyle Lafferty and Steven Davis.
The on loan Walsall star said: "It has been my dream to play at Ibrox since I was a kid. I was a huge fan of guys like Mark Hateley, Andrei Kanchelskis and even our gaffer, Stuart McCall.
"I was born in Londonderry and moved to Manchester at the age of 12 but a lot of my family are still around the city and I've had quite a few texts for tickets."
