Draper Fisher Jurvetson Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ) is a venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California with affiliate offices in more than 30 cities around the world and over $4.5 billion in capital commitments.  ePlanet Ventures ("ePlanet"), the global investment arm of leading Silicon Valley, California based venture capital firm Draper Fisher Jurvetson (www.dfj.com), announced today the promotion of Dr. Finian Tan to head the group's Asia-Pacific operations. Dr. Tan was formerly a Partner in ePlanet's Singapore office and co-head of Asia. Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet Ventures Managing Director Mr. Asad Jamal commented, "Dr. Tan's promotion is an indication of our long-term commitment to the Asia-Pacific region. Dr. Tan brings with him a wealth of local experience, relationships, and technology expertise to entrepreneurs and our portfolio companies, and will be a key driver in ePlanet's success in Asia." Mr. Jamal further added, "we currently have two offices in the Asia-Pacific region, Hong Kong Hong Kong (hŏng kŏng), Mandarin Xianggang, special administrative region of China, formerly a British crown colony (2005 est. pop. 6,899,000), land area 422 sq mi (1,092 sq km), adjacent to Guangdong prov.  and Singapore. Prior to joining Draper Fisher Jurvetson ePlanet, Dr. Finian Tan was the Executive Deputy Chairman for the National Science and Technology Board ("NSTB NSTB National Science and Technology Board (Singapore)

") of Singapore, which, among other things, co-manages a $1 billion Technopreneurship Investment Fund. Prior to becoming Executive Deputy Chairman of the NSTB, Dr. Tan was Deputy Secretary of the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry from 1997 to 1999. Dr. Tan served as Regional Director and Overall head of Asian Operations at J. Aron & Co., in both Singapore and London. Dr. Tan received a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy in Engineering from Cambridge University Cambridge University, at Cambridge, England, one of the oldest English-language universities in the world. Simultaneously with the promotion of Dr. Tan, ePlanet is also delighted to announce that Mr. Jixun Foo is promoted to Senior Associate, and will assist in management of the firm's Greater China operations, and Mr. Yozo Kaneko, Analyst, will assist Dr. Tan in Japan.

Mr. Foo joined ePlanet from the National Science and Technology Board of Singapore, where he was a Manager in the Finance and Investment Division.

Mr. Kaneko recently joined ePlanet as an Analyst on the Asian Pacific venture team. Previously, Mr. Kaneko was with Hikari Tsushin Capital, an Asian venture capital firm located in Singapore.
