The concert by the brilliant Ukrainian duo also will include the presentation of $1,000 in cash prizes, including a $400 1st prize, to South Dade children who took part in the "Dranoff Gets Down with ArtSouth" Art Competition, created in partnership with Ellie Schneiderman, ArtSouth's Founder, and Homestead area public schools. Students' art works inspired by Dranoff artist performances at their schools in 2006 were judged by area professional artists and will be exhibited as part of the program. Since 1998, when Olha Chipak and Oleksiy Kushnir started to play together, their duo has become one of the most renowned contemporary piano duos. Chipak and Kushnir were laureates of numerous prestigious national and international competitions including the Silver prize winners in the 2003 Dranoff International Two Piano Competition held in Miami.
