Dr. Steven Perman Named Florida Chiropractor of the YearFor his work as an active lobbyist in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., Steven Perman, DC, recently was named Chiropractor of the Year by the Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA). Over the course of his 10year career, Perman has fought for better loan programs for students attending chiropractic colleges and worked to improve chiropractic coverage for members of the Armed Forces and Medicare beneficiaries. "It's really nice to be recognized in such a way," Dr. Perman said. Selected from among more than 4,000 FCA members, Dr. Perman received the award at the association's annual convention in Orlando, attended by several members of the Florida Senate and House and a number of senior officers from the state and national professional associations. Dr. Perman's dedication to chiropractic runs in the blood: His father is the current vice chair of the Florida State Board of Chiropractors, and his brother lectures nationwide on chiropractic topics. Originally based in New York, Dr. Perman graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1979, relocated to Florida in 1993, and began his own practice in Boca Raton two years later. Since his move to Florida, he has served in various political roles at the local, state and national levels. © 2006 Dynamic Chiropractic Provided by ProQuest LLC. All Rights Reserved.
