Dr. Laura Joins the Afternoon Line-Up at The WORD 100.7 FM.

DALLAS -- Pete Thomson, vice president and general manager of The Word 100.7 FM KWRD, today announced that beginning Thursday, June 22, Dr. Laura Schlessinger joins The Word 100.7 FM's weekday line-up, airing 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Thomson stated, "We are excited to have Dr. Laura join The Word. She is one of the most recognized names in talk radio and her audience is both large and loyal. Combined with The Scott Wilder Show (4:00-6:30 PM), The Word has a very strong line-up of live, interactive talk."

Previously heard locally on KLIF 570-AM, Dr Laura's unique brand of talk radio rapidly grew from its roots on KFI-AM in Los Angeles to cover the entire country. With over 30 years in talk radio, her program has been syndicated since 1994. Prior to her radio career, she was a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor (MFCC) in private practice and taught at the University of Southern California and at Pepperdine University. Dr. Laura also is a best-selling author of both adult and children's books. She has won numerous recognitions and awards, including the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award -- the radio industry's "Oscar." In 2006, she received the Truth In Media Award from the Pacific Justice Institute.
