Dr. David Diaz Honored as Orange County Physician of Excellence for 2005.


FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. -- Congratulations to Dr. David Diaz, founder and Medical Director of West Coast Fertility Centers in Orange County, for being selected as one of the Orange County Physicians of Excellence for 2005. Physicians chosen for this prestigious award have received accolades from patients, peers, and other members of the community.

While Orange Coast and OCMA believe all doctors have earned the distinction of excellence through their exhaustive training and licensing, there are those physicians who, through their commitment to the medical profession and service to the community, stand out above the rest. They are honored here as Orange County's Physicians of Excellence.

Dr. Diaz has been serving patients for the past 18 years and he is an expert in assisted reproductive technologies. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology and specializes in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Reproductive endocrinology and infertility is a subspecialty of the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology dealing with infertility, fertility, contraception and the medicine and surgical procedures related to it. . Dr. Diaz attended Loyola University School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and the University of Missouri where he completed his residency training. Dr. Diaz received his training with the world's top fertility surgeons. Dr. Diaz has helped hundreds of couples from across the United States, Mexico, and even Guam realize their dream of becoming parents. In October of 2005, Dr. Diaz and his staff celebrated the birth of the first "frozen egg baby" -- a little girl who was conceived from a frozen human oocyte oocyte /oo·cyte/ (-sit) the immature female reproductive cell prior to fertilization; derived from an oogonium. It is a primary o. prior to completion of the first maturation division, and a secondary o.  (egg) that had been stored for several years at West Coast Fertility Center. This was the first birth of its kind for the Centers as well as the first of its kind in Orange County.
