Dr. Charles (Buzz) Moschetto joins Nielsen as head of NTI service.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 1995--Dr. Charles (Buzz) Moschetto, vice president, television research for CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  Inc., is joining Nielsen Media Research Nielsen Media Research (NMR) is an American firm that measures media audiences, including television, radio, theatre films (via the AMC MAP program) and newspapers. NMR, headquartered in New York City and operating primarily from Oldsmar, Florida, is best-known for the  as senior vice president and director of marketing for Nielsen Television Index (NTI NTI NewTech Infosystems (software company, Irvine, California)

As the senior marketing executive in charge of NTI, Moschetto will be responsible for Nielsen's national People Meter service to the broadcast networks, national advertisers and their agencies.

The announcement was made today by Robert J. Taragan, executive vice president in charge of marketing for Nielsen Media Research. Moschetto will join Nielsen on Sept. 18 and report to Taragan.

"With more than 15 years experience in television research, marketing and management at CBS--including every facet of the network and the television station business, Buzz brings to Nielsen a unique level of understanding and leadership, as well as a customer perspective that I'm sure will be welcomed by everyone," said Taragan.

Moschetto is the second senior marketing executive to join Nielsen as the head of a syndicated service. In July, Nielsen announced the appointment of Joanne Burns as senior vice president, director of marketing for the Nielsen Syndication Service (NSS (Novell Storage Services) A 64-bit file system introduced with NetWare 5 that can support terabyte-sized files. NSS files and standard NetWare files can be used in the same server. See NetWare 5.

Moschetto joined CBS in 1980 as director of news research for the owned television stations. He was promoted to vice president of the group in 1982. In 1987 Buzz became vice president, television research, where he managed a research staff servicing CBS Entertainment, News, Sports, the O&O stations, affiliate relations, CBS International, New media, advertising and promotion, sales and marketing and commercial clearance.

Before joining CBS, Moschetto was assistant professor, experimental psychology at William Paterson College. From 1972-78 he was an adjunct professor of psychology at Brooklyn College, New York New York, state, United States
