Dr. Cassandra Stroud.Dr. Cassandra Stroud treats patients in emergency rooms to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. She requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. She relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in performing a variety of tasks, including taking on the most difficult medical cases, patients and community problems, and leading and managing to resolution/solution. Stroud was named Physician of the Year by Sharp Memorial Hospital in 2009. A Girl Scout troop leader for eight years, as well as serving on the board of directors for Coronado Soccer and the Island Sports Foundation, which manages all middle school and some high sports. Stroud is also active in the community; her Girl Scout troop has contributed a "troop made" project to the silent auction for the Coronado School Foundation for five years, helping the organization raise several thousand dollars. She also spearheaded a campaign to re-engineer the way that middle and high school kids in Coronado sign up for sports. The program was losing money and was short of resources and leadership. Stroud has almost singlehandedly help build and develop a strong and sustainable board, using technology to triple the number of kids participating in middle school sports and helping kids live healthier and more fulfilling lives. Her Girl Scout troop is one of the most active in San Diego, completing campouts and many community projects such as supporting the Coronado Schools Foundation. Stroud is a doer and inspirational leader to young and old alike. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] |
