Dr. Nezhat will use Viking's EndoSite 3Di Digital Vision System to carry out a complex minimally invasive procedure Minimally invasive surgical procedures avoid open invasive surgery in favor of closed or local surgery with less trauma. These procedures involve use of laparoscopic devices and remote-control manipulation of instruments with indirect observation of the surgical field through an  aimed at treating extensive endometriosis. The EndoSite 3Di has been selected for this surgical procedure, because its enhanced 3D visualization capability enables highly complex surgery to be performed with minimally invasive techniques.

Each member of Dr. Nezhat's surgical team will have access to high-resolution, stereoscopic images delivered within their natural line of sight via Viking's Head-Mounted Display (HMD See head mounted display. ). The view through the HMD creates an immersive surgical environment and a sense of open surgery. Dr. Nezhat and this team will narrate this experience to the audience.

As the President of SLS, and as the pioneer of laparoscopic surgical technique, Dr. Nezhat provides the organization's members information on the newest advancements in medical device technology.
