Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive Is Now Factiva New Name Rebrands the "Information-You-Need, When-You-Need-It" Company.

British cooperative news agency. Founded in 1851 by Paul Julius Reuter, it was initially concerned with commercial news but began to serve a growing newspaper clientele after the London Morning Advertiser subscribed in 1858.
 Business Interactive - a name that certainly rolls off the tongue easier than the old one, while immediately conveying the essence of the six-month-old company's business.

And that's part of the point of the announcement made today, changing the name of Dow Jones Reuters Business Interactive to Factiva. Because when you're a new company with global customers demanding information at Internet speed, you can't let the length of your name slow them down.

"Our nearly one million subscribers worldwide want quick access to relevant and factual global news and business information," said Factiva President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Andrews. "Our new name will become synonymous with synonymous with
adjective equivalent to, the same as, identical to, similar to, identified with, equal to, tantamount to, interchangeable with, one and the same as
 fast, accurate and indispensable information."

In underscoring this theme during concurrent employee meetings in both London and Princeton unveiling the Factiva name, both Andrews and Factiva Vice President and Director of Marketing Michele Lally made the following points:

economy. Business information is all we do, and we are passionate

about it. We are fast-moving, flexible and service-oriented,

keeping pace at Internet speed.

The Launch

To assist with the rebranding effort, Factiva turned to global consultancy Interbrand to collaborate on staff and customer research, and to develop the brand name, brand position and corporate identity. Research included focus groups with both current and prospective customers as well as interviews with internal staff at all levels.

The global rebranding effort is being rolled out via employee meetings at Factiva's Princeton and London offices, with similar meetings scheduled at Factiva offices around the world. Leading up to the announcement were a series of "teaser teaser
