Dow Jones Newswires Appoints Michael Bergmeijer and Neal Lipschutz to New Roles.

Bergmeijer, 49, vice president and managing director, international, and Neal S. Lipschutz, 48, vice president and managing editor. Mr. Bergmeijer currently serves as vice president, international sales and marketing, and Mr. Lipschutz is currently senior editor, Americas. Both Mr. Bergmeijer and Mr. Lipschutz will report to Paul J. Ingrassia, president, Dow Jones Newswires. These changes will take effect Oct. 3.

In his new role, Mr. Bergmeijer will be responsible for both business and news operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa Europe, the Middle East and Africa, usually abbreviated to EMEA, is a regional designation used for government, marketing and business purposes. It is particularly common amongst North American based companies, who often divide their international operations into the , as well as Asia-Pacific. His expanded role will allow him to direct the growth of Newswires' overall business, including its roster of local-language wires (which now number nine) and its opportunities to expand relationships with key partners.

Mr. Lipschutz will directly supervise the news staffs in the Americas. He also will be the chief arbiter of, and spokesman for, news policies, coverage and standards for Newswires on a global basis. He will work closely with Mr. Bergmeijer in his new role.
