Dow Jones Names Richard Tofel Director of Corporate Communications.

, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 1997--Dow Jones & Company announced the appointment of Richard J. Tofel, currently director of international development and administration, as director of corporate communications Corporate communications is the process of facilitating information and knowledge exchanges with internal and key external groups and individuals that have a direct relationship with an enterprise. , effective April 16.

In this new post, Mr. Tofel's responsibilities will involve both internal and external communications at Dow Jones. As head of the Dow Jones corporate relations department, he will succeed Roger B. May, 65, who is retiring from Dow Jones.

Mr. Tofel, 40, joined Dow Jones in 1989 in the legal department after representing the company at outside law firms. As assistant general counsel, he focused on press law and litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right.
