Dow Corning acquires Nippon Unicar silicones division.


* JAPAN: Dow Corning life sciences executives are expecting that the recent acquisition of the Nippon Unicar Co., Ltd. (NUC) by Dow Corning's joint venture in Japan, Dow Corning Tory Silicone Co., Ltd., will pave the way for a variety of innovative cosmetics products while improving the company's presence in Asia. By capitalizing on NUC's advanced manufacturing solutions, which are of high-value in the Asian market, Dow Corning will take advantage of the combined expertise and products of the two companies in specialty fluids, emulsions, organic modified fluids and surfactants, according to executives.
