Dow Chemical to acquire Wolff Walsrode.The Dow Chemical Group, Midland, MI, has reached an agreement with the Bayer Group for the acquisition of Bayer's Wolff Walsrode business group. The group is primarily involved in cellulose products. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2007, subject to regulatory approval. Dow cites the goal of strengthening its Performance businesses portfolio as reason for the acquisition. Wolff Walsrode will become part of Dow's Water Soluble Polymers business. The new business will combine Wolff's production technology and HEMC HEMC Holocaust Education and Memorial Centre of Toronto (Canada) (Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose) and CMC (Common Messaging Calls) A programming interface specified by the XAPIA as the standard messaging API for X.400 and other messaging systems. CMC is intended to provide a common API for applications that want to become mail enabled. 1.
