Dow Chemical's Polyolefins and Elastomers Business Group has entered into a commercial agreement to supply polyethylene waxes to Marcus Oil & Chemical, Houston, TX.

The most important are polyethylene and polypropylene. and Elastomers Business Group has entered into a commercial agreement to supply polyethylene polyethylene (pŏl'ēĕth`əlēn), widely used plastic. It is a polymer of ethylene, CH2=CH2, having the formula (-CH2-CH2-)n waxes to Marcus Oil & Chemical, Houston, TX. Dow will use its material science and PE production expertise to develop a portfolio of PE waxes for Marcus Oil. Marcus will market and sell 100% of the PE wax produced by Dow under the agreement. Exact terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Dow's facility in Sarnia, Ontario Sarnia is a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada (city population 71,419, census area population 88,793, in 2006). It is the largest city on Lake Huron and is located where the three upper Great Lakes empty into the St. Clair River. , Canada, has been selected to manufacture market development quantities of the new product.
