Dow AgroSciences, Indianapolis, obtains exclusive worldwide licensing rights to market antibody technologies that combat foodborne pathogens without antibiotics. The technologies are being developed under a 2001 collaborative agreement between Dow AgroSciences Canada Inc. and National Research Council of Canada's Institute for Biological Sciences in Ottawa. The collaboration so far has developed technology to combat E. coli 0157:H7 in cattle and Campylobacter Campylobacter /Cam·py·lo·bac·ter/ (kam´pi-lo-bak´ter) a genus of bacteria, family Spirillaceae, made up of gram-negative, non–spore-forming, motile, spirally curved rods, which are microaerophilic to anaerobic. C. jeju´ni, C. co´li, and certain subspecies of C. fe´tus can cause gastroenteritis; C. rec´tus is associated with periodontal disease.. jejuni in poultry.
