Dow & BASF to Buy PUR Systems Houses.


Last month, two major producers of polyurethane chemicals agreed to purchase large PUR systems formulators. First, Dow Chemical Co., Midland, Mich., will buy Flexible Products Co. of Marietta, Ga. Flexible Products supplies custom foam formulations and dispensing equipment. It serves refrigeration refrigeration, process for drawing heat from substances to lower their temperature, often for purposes of preservation. Refrigeration in its modern, portable form also depends on insulating materials that are thin yet effective. , construction, furniture, roofing, packaging, geotechnical, and transportation markets. Flexible Products owns four manufacturing sites in Marietta; Joliet, Ill.; Austin, Texas; and Toronto.

 Corp. in Mt. Olive, N.J., will acquire IPI (Intelligent Peripheral Interface) A high-speed hard disk interface used with minis and mainframes that transfers data in the 10 to 25 MBytes/sec range.
