Douglas sells "Lifting & Transportation International.".

Douglas Publications (Richmond, VA) has sold Lifting & Transportation International (L&TI) magazine to MLS, Inc. Publications (Eugene, OR). No terms of the deal were given.

Launched over 50 years ago, L&TI is published six times a year with a controlled circulation of 11,500 crane owners and operators, construction contractors, industry association members, engineers and manufacturers. Editorial covers equipment and new products, hauling and transportation, maintenance and operations.

MLS vp Jason Pierce said the acquired title will be "folded into our existing publications initially, but we are looking to relaunch the redesigned publication in about six months. The relaunch will include a complete facelift with an integrated online presence that will include new features and an online marketplace." MLS operates Vihn.net, an inventory and auction site for dozens of industries, "My Little Salesman Truck & Trailer Catalog," "My Little Salesman Heavy Equipment Catalog," Performance Horse magazine and two printing divisions.

Pierce said the purchase provides his company with an additional marketplace to expand its dominant position in the Heavy Equipment and Trucking classified publications.

Douglas continues to publish seven other magazines, including Compliance, Human Capital, Facility Care, Flooring, Robotics World, American Painting Contractor and Sales & Marketing Strategies and News.
