Douglas Hopkins-Bergdorf Goodman Sells Out World's Most Expensive Skin Treatment.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2000

Douglas Hopkins, president of Douglas Hopkins & Co., creator of prestige beauty products, today announced that Bergdorf Goodman Bergdorf Goodman is a major, world-renowned luxury goods department store based in Midtown, Manhattan in New York City. It is owned by Neiman Marcus. History

, the world's foremost beauty retailer, sold out its inventory of the "Botaenica Dual-Mud Kit" four days after introduction. The product, a treatment kit made up of two, one-ounce geothermal facial mud masques, is priced at $845. One of the most exotic cosmetic products ever offered, the price is based on an extremely scarce supply retrieved on the ocean floor by remote submarine at the Titanic depth of three miles.

The company has retained one remaining Dual-Mud Kit for charity auction on the web, the site being sought.

For over a decade the Douglas Hopkins company has specialized in the development of rare fragrance and skin care products derived from ancient or royal sources and those based on the traditional healing powers of the earth's heat.

Hence, the intrinsic power of this "Dual-Mud" system: each obtained from vastly different geological compositions. The first, "Geothermal Black Mud Mask", is from the Dead Sea, respected over 5000 years for its healing properties. The second, "Deep Sea Mud Mask", is the emanation emanation, in philosophy

This rare mud is concentrated beyond any such source on the surface of the planet by the immense additional heat and pressure unique to this depth.
