BB:TTRE TTRE Ticket to Ride Europe (board game) ) has announced an exclusive licensing agreement with Doug Carson & Associates, Inc. Doug Carson & Associates is the world's leading supplier of signal processing systems used to create compact disc (CD) and digital versatile disc digital versatile disc or digital video disc (DVD), a small plastic disc used for the storage of digital data. ) recording masters. TTR's DiscGuard(TM) enhanced mastering system (three worldwide patents pending) places an indelible "fingerprint" on optical media at the time of manufacture, without which the software cannot be used. This fingerprint can be read by CD/DVD readers but cannot be duplicated by CD/DVD recorders or by remastering, making it a highly effective weapon in the battle against the illegal replication of software, music, motion pictures, video and other content distributed on optical media.

The TTR DiscGuard option will be available before year-end on DCA's equipment. The newest version of DCA's Mastering Interface System (MIS) will be DiscGuard-ready.

"To be effective, copy protection technology must stay ahead of pirates' capabilities," said Doug Carson, chief executive officer, Doug Carson & Associates. "TTR has done an excellent job of understanding the entire problem of piracy as well as optical disc technology in order to create the DiscGuard solution."

According to the Software Publishers Association, approximately $11 billion is lost annually due to software piracy. TTR's DiscGuard is a proprietary technology that enables software and electronic content publishers using optical media (e.g., CD-ROM CD-ROM: see compact disc.

Doug Carson & Associates Inc., whose systems are used in 75 percent of the world's mastering machines, holds a six-month exclusive worldwide license to bundle DiscGuard into its MIS V6 machines. The software components necessary to implement DiscGuard will be licensed under separate agreements between TTR, replicators, software publishers and content providers.

Arik Shavit, chief executive officer of TTR, said, "TTR's agreement with DCA significantly demonstrates recognition and confirmation of the viability of DiscGuard technology by the world's leading provider of signal processing systems and is a major step towards the achievement of our strategy to establish DiscGuard as a worldwide standard in the battle against digital piracy. Software developers, publishers and movie producers will be able to protect their products' content, release more titles and create the critical mass needed for the DVD industry to take off."

TTR, Inc. is primarily engaged in the development and marketing of a family of proprietary products designed to protect intellectual property rights and prevent the unauthorized reproduction and use of electronic content including computer software, DVD and audio CDs.
