Double honours for St Paul's CE; RECOGNITION: Primary school scoops international, nurture awards.Byline: By Sian Powell A NUNEATON school is celebrating after being honoured with not one, but two awards in just one week. St Paul's CE Primary School has been given an International Schools Award, and has also been awarded the Marjorie Boxall Award for its nurture group - the first in the county to receive the honour. Staff from the school travelled to London to receive the International Schools Award from BBC BBC in full British Broadcasting Corp. Publicly financed broadcasting system in Britain. The school in Wiclif Way has been working with partner schools in Austria, Finland, France and Bradford on a maths project since teacher Carolyn Ames visited Trondheim in Norway for a seminar three years ago. Since then, staff have visited colleagues in Bradford, Mikkeli in Finland and Aflenz in Austria. They are also to visit the Hautes Savoie region of France next year. Head teacher Chris Plant said: "The project that we are putting together is about Taking Maths on a Journey - maths outdoors. It's about different approaches to teach maths." The schools have looked at their journeys to school and have shared their findings. And the next project will be weather recording - swapping information on the conditions in the four different countries. The European schools visited Britain last week, splitting their time between Stockingford and Bradford. Mr Plant said the Europeans were particularly impressed with the colourful learning environment at St Paul's. Throughout the project, the different schools have been sending photographs and information via the internet, e-mail and on DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc. Much of the shared information has been put on a special display board. Mr Plant said: "It gives our children a sense they are part of this great European family.
