Double gold for Gardiner Richardson.NEWCASTLE-based creative communications agency Gardiner Richardson is celebrating after picking up four awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most (CIPR CIPR Chartered Institute of Public Relations (UK) CIPR Centre for Integrated Petroleum Research CIPR Comisión Internacional de Protección Radiológica CIPR Center for Imaging and Pharmaceutical Research ) PRide awards ceremony. The agency, which celebrates its 12th anniversary next month, picked up two gold and two silver awards for its achievements over the last year, despite the challenging circumstances that the industry has faced. Gardiner Richardson scooped the gold award for Best Use of Media Relations and silver for Best Use of Community Relations 1. The relationship between military and civilian communities. 2. Those public affairs programs that address issues of interest to the general public, business, academia, veterans, Service organizations, military-related associations, and other non-news media entities. for its work with Balance, the North East alcohol office. The awards were gained for launching the biggest public health consultation the region has ever seen, the North East Big Drink Debate, which captured the views of over 13,000 people from across the region in just six weeks and generated more than pounds 1m worth of print, broadcast and online coverage. The Best Use of Social Media award was handed to the communications agency for its innovative alternative to the corporate Christmas card. It is only the second year the category has featured in the awards line up. Gardiner Richardson challenged its creative team to come up with something totally different, very festive and which captured the agency's personality - the result was an all singing, all dancing e-pantomime. Lucy Gardiner, director at Gardiner Richardson, was delighted to pick up the awards. She said: "Winning awards is a great achievement for the business but more importantly for the team in recognition of their hard work. We are delighted to receive two awards for our work with Balance, including the most coveted honour of all for Best Use of Media Relations. "It is particularly exciting to win the gold award for Best Use of Social Media, as it demonstrates our forward-thinking approach to public relations and the fact we are pushing the boundaries in the digital arena. "We are looking forward to the coming year and the opportunities that arise to further embrace social media, as it is now an integral part of any PR communications. We are already working with a number of clients to build and strengthen their presence online." Gardiner Richardson also picked up silver for Outstanding Agency of the Year after winning gold in 2007 and 2008.
