His identical twin brother Milton, who happens to be the superintendent in DeSoto, Miss., in an opposite corner of the state, went door to door in the weeks leading up to Malcolm's successful run at the polls. More than a few people thought he was Malcolm. "They would say things like, 'It's about time you got to this part of the county,' and I would have to say, I'm sorry but I'm not Malcolm.'"

The Kuykendall brothers are 58. They began their careers together 36 years ago, teaching and coaching high school basketball at the same school.
