Dost thou protest enough? The October Sounding Board ("Thou dost protest too much!") by Dan Andriacco was just a bit too sanctimonious for me. And anyone who truly believes that it was Nixon, not American protestors, who ended the Vietnam War could probably also be easily persuaded that Halliburton is a human rights organization. The assertion that demonstrators demonstrate in order to "feel good" may well be true in Andriacco's case, but his attempt to assign this motivation to everyone else is misguided and incredibly arrogant. I hope none of the family and friends of those who were murdered at Kent State read this article. Actually, I thought most of the suggestions outlined by Andriacco belonged in the "feel good" category. And that's fine, except that it is no longer sufficient to simply cast a vote or sit at home between elections reciting Saint Francis Saint Francis, city, United StatesSaint Francis, city (1990 pop. 9,245), Milwaukee co., SE Wis., a residential suburb of Milwaukee on Lake Michigan; inc. 1951.
