Doskocil names president of retail division; Swafford previously vice president and general manager of Sara Lee subsidiary.

Swafford as senior vice president and president of the Retail Division. Raymond J. Haefele, vice president and president of the Deli Division, who had assumed the additional responsibilities of Acting President of the Retail Division since last June, will assist Swafford during the transition.

). Swafford was vice president and general manager of the West Point, Mississippi-based Bryan. Bryan Foods is a manufacturer of processed and fresh meats with revenues of $700 million. During his two year tenure at Bryan, Swafford was responsible for sales, marketing and production functions.

Prior to joining Bryan Foods in 1993, Swafford was vice president of John Morrell and Company, the $1.8 billion manufacturer and distributor of prepared and canned meat products and a subsidiary of Chiquita Brands International (NYSE:CQB CQB Close Quarters Battle

). At John Morrell, Swafford was responsible for marketing eleven brand names.

Swafford holds a B.S. in Business from Texas Tech University.

Doskocil's Retail Division represented the largest percentage of Doskocil's sales in 1993, providing a wide range of branded processed food products to an expanding retail base which includes leading independent and chain supermarkets as well as a growing number of club stores.
