(Morrison) Thompson Delfanti, 97, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Beaumont at Northborough after an illness. In 1988, she was predeceased by her 1st husband of 52 years, George E. Thompson and in 2000 her 2nd husband, Carl L. Delfanti died. She is survived by her son, Ronald B. Thompson and his wife, Kathleen of Shrewsbury; a grandson Grandson (gräNsôN`), Ger. Grandsee, town (1990 pop. 2,473), Vaud canton, W Switzerland, at the southwestern end of the Lake of Neuchâtel. , Ronald B. The population was 7,139 at the 2000 census. and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She also was predeceased by a brother, John and three sisters, Mae, Susan and Elizabeth. She was born and raised in Lawrence, daughter of the late Matthew and Delia (Caron) Morrison and had attended and graduated from the Catholic Schools there. Dorothy had worked at Telechron in Worcester for several years. She later had taken on working with several families in the Worcester area to help them organize and manage their households. Dorothy was very active in many church and senior activities. She spent many winter seasons with her second husband, Carl away from New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt. vacationing in Florida. Dorothy also was a member of Saint Mary's Saint Mary's, island, Scilly Islands Saint Mary's, England: see Scilly Islands. Dorothy's family wishes to thank the entire staff at Beaumont-Northborough "Thornton Neighborhood," especially Irene Campbell, for all their wonderful care and compassion that was shown to Dorothy and her family while she was a resident there. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mrs. Delfanti's family on Thursday, March 12th from 9:00-10:30 A.M in the Britton - Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will follow and be celebrated at 11:00 A.M in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury.
