 who died in 1989.

Mrs. Baker was born December 27, 1914 in the Ferwerd, Friesland, Netherlands, the Netherlands, The
 officially Kingdom of The Netherlands byname Holland

Country, northwestern Europe. Area: 16,034 sq mi (41,528 sq km). Population (2005 est.): 16,300,000. Capital: Amsterdam. Seat of government: The Hague. Most of the people are Dutch.
 daughter of the late Johannus and Minke (Talma) Swart and came to this country with her parents in 1925. She attended Uxbridge and Whitinsville Schools.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church Christian Reformed Church, denomination formed after the secession of a group from the Reformed Church in America in 1857. Colonists from Holland who began settling in Michigan in 1846 generally became members of the Reformed (Dutch) church there.  and a member of the Missionary Society. She was well known for running a Thrift Shop thrift shop

A shop that sells used articles, especially clothing, as to benefit a charitable organization.
 to benefit the Whitinsville Retirement Home for 20 years. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed cooking, baking, yard sales, and time spent playing games with friends and family.

She is survived by one son Gerald Baker of Fairfax, VA; two daughters Tarah Harriet Vriesenga of Fayettesville, NY and Mary L. Golouski of No. Smithfield, RI; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son Ambert Baker who died in 2001 and three brothers, Garrit Swart, Clarence Swart, and Sidney Swart.

Funeral services will be held Fri. Feb. 15, 2008 at 11 AM in the Buma Funeral Home, 480 Church St., Whitinsville, MA 01588. Calling hours will be Thurs. Feb. 14, 2008 from 4 7 PM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Whitinsville Christian School Whitinsville Christian School is a K-12 Christian day school, one of the oldest in Massachusetts. Foundation
