Dorothea Frederico; Retired R.N.


GRAFTON Dorothea L. (Carlson) Frederico, 70, passed away February 10, 2008 at home in the care and love of her family after a year long battle with stomach cancer. Her husband of 33 years, Robert J. Frederico Sr. passed in 1993. She is survived by her two children, Karen F. McInnis, her husband Bret and step daughter Abigail, Robert J. Frederico Jr., his wife Linda and their daughter Michaela; one brother, John Carlson John Carlson (born June 3, 1959) is a popular American conservative talk radio host on KVI, a Seattle talk radio station owned by Fisher Communications. His show formerly aired during the afternoon drive time.  and his wife Nancy; her in laws, Pauline Carlson wife of Dot's deceased brother Richard Carlson, Lt. Col. Ret. Ann Frederico, Martin Frederico, Thomas and Bonnie Frederico all of Grafton, Francis and Anne Frederico of Millbury and three generations of nieces and nephews. Dot was born January 18, 1938 in Worcester the daughter of the late Frithiof and Alice (Ferrazza) Carlson and lived most of her life in Grafton. She graduated from Grafton High School Grafton High School is the name of several high schools in the United States:
  • Grafton High School — Grafton, North Dakota
  • Grafton High School — Grafton, Massachusetts
  • Grafton High School — Yorktown, Virginia
 (1956), Burbank School of Nursing in Fitchburg, earned her BS in nursing at Boston University Boston University, at Boston, Mass.; coeducational; founded 1839, chartered 1869, first baccalaureate granted 1871. It is composed of 16 schools and colleges.  and her MS in health administration at Clark University Clark University, at Worcester, Mass.; coeducational; chartered 1887, opened as a graduate school 1889. It was the second graduate school to be formed in the United States. Its undergraduate college (est. 1902) was integrated with the university in 1920. . Mrs. Frederico began working for The MA DMR (Digital Media Receiver) See digital media hub.  at The Fernald State School in 1959 rising to Director of Nursing In Service Education. In 1975 she moved to The Irving Glavine Regional Center becoming Director of Nursing and Allied Health Services health services Managed care The benefits covered under a health contract  until 1992. Dot then returned to MA DMR Central Region 3 as Medication Administration Coordinator working until becoming ill. Mrs. Frederico was active in town affairs serving several years on The Grafton Board of Health, The Medical Reserve Board, The Ambulance Study Committee and The 250th Anniversary Committee. All are invited to calling hours Wednesday February 13th from 4 to 8 p.m in The North Grafton Chapel of Roney Funeral Homes, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton (Rt. 122 & 140). Funeral services are Thursday February 14th at 11 a.m in The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 183 West Main St. (Rt. 30) in Westborough. All attending the funeral are respectfully asked to go directly to the church. She will then be laid to rest with her husband in Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton. Donations may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 183 West Main St. Westborough MA 01581.
