Dornoch buys Paterson property in preparation for new project.


Dornoch Dornoch (dôr`nŏkh, –nŏk), town (1991 pop. 1,006), Highland, N Scotland, on Dornoch Firth. It is a summer resort.  has acquired a vacant, 60,000 s/f commercial warehouse at 2 Jasper Street in Paterson, N.J., for $3 million.

Built in 1987, the warehouse overlooks the Great Falls Great Falls, city (1990 pop. 55,097), seat of Cascade co., N central Mont., second largest city in the state, at the confluence of the Missouri and Sun rivers and near the falls that give the city its name; inc. 1888. . The company's affiliate, Dornoch Paterson LLC, has a comprehensive redevelopment proposal for the Great Falls Historic District The Great Falls Historic District is the most famous neighborhood in Paterson, New Jersey, because of the landmarks Great Falls of the Passaic River and Garett Mountain. The Great Falls Historic District is mostly above I-80 and along the Passaic River.  Area currently being considered by the City of Paterson. This industrial property is situated within the proposed redevelopment area.

"In Dornoch Paterson's proposal, preliminary plans for this site include redevelopment into residential units that would offer spectacular views of the Great Falls," said Frank Macios, co-founder of Dornoch Holdings. Dornoch Paterson is a large-scale, phased redevelopment project, which will be privately financed, requiring no financial assistance from the City of Paterson.
