Dorjee Khandu to be next Arunachal Pradesh CM.

Itangar, Oct 24 (ANI): The Congress Legislator Party (CLP 1. CLP - Cornell List Processor.
2. CLP - Constraint Logic Programming.
) on Saturday unanimously elected incumbent Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu Dorjee Khandu (born March 3, 1955) at Gyangkhar village, is the current Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He was sworn on April 9, 2007 as the fifth chief minister of the Indian state, replacing Gegong Apang.  as its leader paving way for him to take over the reins of Arunachal Pradesh Arunachal Pradesh (är'ənächəl prədĕsh`), state (2001 provisional pop. 1,091,117), 31,438 sq mi (81,424 sq km), NE India, bordered on the north by the Tibet region of China and on the east by Myanmar. The capital is Itanagar.  for a second time.

 Congress sources, all 42 legislators unanimously voted for Khandu.

Union Minister of State for Planning V Narayanswami and senior party leader Luizinho Faleiro were present at the CLP as the Central observers.

Speaking to reporters, Narayanswami said the CLP decision to elect Khandu as their leader will be conveyed to party president Sonia Gandhi, and once a formal nod is given, he will take oath as Chief Minister.

The Congress won 42 seats in the 60-member legislature, eight more than it had in the 2004 assembly elections.

Khandu, a Monapa Buddhist leader hailing from Tawang District first became Chief Minister in April 2007. He replaced Gegong Apang. (ANI)
