Doris R. Jacobs, 86.PROVIDENCE, RI Doris R. Jacobs, 86, of Providence, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009. She was the wife of the late Milton Jacobs. Born in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late William and Rebecca (Schlesinger) Meyers. Mrs. Jacobs lived in Providence since 1968, prior to that she lived in Cranston. She was a former member of Torat Yisrael and also a member of the Women's Assoc. for the former Jewish Home for the Aged. Mrs. Jacobs was committed to caring for her family, her children Donald Jacobs of Holden, MA, Susan Safran of East Northport East Northport, uninc. residential town (1990 pop. 20,411), Suffolk co., SE N.Y., on the north shore of Long Island. , NY, and Andrew Jacobs Andrew Jacobs (February 22, 1906 - December 17, 1992) was a lawyer, judge, and Congressman for one term, in Indiana. His son, Andrew Jacobs, Jr. was also a Congressman. He attended the public schools near where he was born, in Gerald, Indiana, and later at St. of Williamsburg, VA; her grandchildren Benjamin, Katie, Danielle, Jonathan, Anna, Allison, Molly, and Ryan; and she was the sister of Marvin Meyers of Marblehead, MA.
