(NASDAQ: DIIBF)has further solidified its position in the juvenile industry with the signing of an agreement to acquire a U.S. wood crib and dresser manufacturer, Okla Homer Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas Fort Smith is a city that lies on the Arkansas-Oklahoma state border, situated at the junction of the Arkansas and Poteau Rivers, also known as Belle Point. The city began as a western frontier military post in 1817 and would later become well-known for its role in the settling of . During its most recent fiscal year, Okla Homer Smith posted sales of approximately $30.8 million (U.S.$20 million). Dorel is paying approximately $11.2 million (U.S.$7.25 million) for the assets and certain liabilities of the company. The deal is scheduled to close August 31.

Operations of the 60 year old company will be integrated into Dorel's main juvenile division, Cosco Inc. Cosco is currently North America's leading manufacturer of metal cribs.

Okla Homer Smith's manufacturing facilities for both its lines of wood products and mattresses will remain in Fort Smith.
