Doogie Dork Meets Trouble by Mavis Tofte offers young readers an adventure in Dorkland--a place just beyond the imagination and not far from the truth! All over town the lovely flower gardens are being raided and the bloosmoms eaten. It's up to Doogie and his friends to follow a trail of partially eaten flowers to the No-Way Forest where they encounter Kuki, a little Mungee in the Marshmallow marshmallow /marsh·mal·low/ (mahrsh´mel?o) (-mal?o) a perennial Eurasian herb, Althaea officinalis,  Caves, and bring him home. But after Kuki is sent away for eating Momma Dork's prized flowers, Doogie's little sister Sarah goes missing. The nights are very cold in Dorkland; Doogie Dork must find her quickly! Doogie Dork Meets Trouble is an enjoyable, lighthearted children's novel with a gentle story, clear prose, and an upbeat positive message. Highly recommended.
