Donnison sets new course record at Helsby.

Byline: BY RICHARD WILLIAMSON Tamsel Tour

CHESHIRE golfer Gary Donnison - who plays out of Northumberland club Stocksfield - set a new course record at Helsby on his way to winning the latest event on the Tamsel Tour schedule.

The Mobberley player roared round the course for an eight-under-par 62.

Donnison had seemed out of the reckoning in the Chester-based tour's two day-event after a first round 74 had left him in 16th - six shots behind home professional Matthew Jones, Adam Scallon (Brocket Hall Brocket Hall is a country house in Hertfordshire, England, 22 miles from central London by road. They shared the overnight lead on 68, with David Wilcock David Wilcock is a professional intuitive consultant, clairvoyant, visionary, channeller, and popular speaker. Donnison's superb second round, which included six birdies and an eagle with no dropped shots, gave him a tournament score of 136 and a three-shot victory.

Wilcock displayed consistency over the two rounds to add a 70 on day two for a 139 total and a share of second with Gareth Davies (Abbeydale) and Adam Stott (Reddish Vale). Parry shared fifth spot on level-par 140 with Edward Parker, a plus two amateur from Crewe, whose rounds of 72,68 earned him the leading amateur medal. Tied for seventh on 141 were Mike Kanski (Hesketh), Tom Maddison (Castle Eden) and Adam Scallon.
