Donkey Paddy's back to health; JOY AT SANCTUARY.


Byline: BY PAT FLANAGAN John Patrick "Pat" Flanagan (born 1891 in Preston, Lancashire) was an English footballer.

An inside forward, Flanagan played youth football for Stourbridge before joining Norwich City in 1908, before moving to Fulham in 1909.
 

THIS is Paddy the donkey who didn't look like he would make it to St Patrick's Day after being found with appalling injuries.

He was close to death when found in a field last year but has since been nursed back to health at the Donkey Sanctuary in Liscarroll, Co Cork.

He added: "Paddy was in a terrible condition, we had our doubts as to whether or not he would make it.

"Our caring staff were able to tend to his feet and his wound and we are pleased that he is making a good recovery.

"Paddy is making new friends in a special group for donkeys with foot problems and remains under the watchful eye of our experienced grooms and veterinary team.

"At times like these we are grateful to the supporters of our charity and send them our sincere thanks.

"We rely entirely on donations to carry out our work; providing refuge to donkeys like Paddy, who often have nowhere else to go, is a vital part of our work."

The sanctuary is connected to The Donkey Sanctuary in Devon which is the largest of its kind in the world.
