Donald W. Smith Joins Turner Investment Partners as Security Analyst/Portfolio Manager.

BERWYN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 30, 2003

Donald W. Smith has been named a security analyst/portfolio manager of the U.S. Growth Equity Investing Team at Turner Investment Partners, an investment-management firm that invests more than $10 billion on behalf of institutions and individuals.

In this position Mr. Smith, 35, helps cover the cyclical sectors of the stock market -- the energy, materials/processing, and utilities sectors -- for all of Turner's institutional growth-stock portfolios and mutual funds. In addition, he helps manage Turner's institutional large-cap growth-stock portfolios and two mutual funds, the Turner Disciplined Large Cap Growth Fund and the Turner Large Cap Growth Opportunities Fund. Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Turner is employee-owned and was founded in 1990.

Mr. Smith becomes the fourteenth member of Turner's U.S. Growth Equity Investing Team. His appointment supports the growth in Turner's investment services and individual responsibilities of the team; Turner's assets under management Assets Under Management (AUM) is a term used by financial services companies in the mutual fund and money management or investment management business to gauge how much money they are managing.  have more than tripled since 1999. He reports to Robb J. Parlanti, senior portfolio manager/security analyst and a principal of the firm.

Mr. Smith most recently served as an equity analyst at Delaware Investment Advisers, where he followed the energy, media, automotive, industrial, and airline industries.
