Donald Axford Former Chairman of Canadian Superior Passes Away.

CALGARY, Alberta -- Canadian Superior Energy Inc.(TSX:SNG) (AMEX:SNG) ("Canadian Superior")of Calgary, Alberta, Canada notes with condolences to his family and friends the passing of Mr. Donald Axford, a former Chairman and Director of Canadian Superior.

Mr. Axford was widely known in the oil and gas business and a true pioneer in the industry. He has been often recognized for excellence in exploration and for his distinguished career; and honored by many organizations including the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists for his distinguished service and technical excellence. Mr. Axford initiated the search for oil and gas offshore Atlantic Canada and was recently recognized for this as the very first OTANS  Petroleum Pioneer Award recipient in Halifax in 2001. Mr. Axford has over his distinguished career, which included 28 years with Mobil Oil, contributed to many successful exploration programs, including programs in Western Canada, and was instrumental in assisting Canadian Superior with its entry into offshore Nova Scotia.

Speaking in Calgary today, Greg Noval, President and CEO of Canadian Superior, said, "Don was a true gentlemen and made significant contributions to the industry and companies like Canadian Superior. He will be missed by all of us and on behalf of Canadian Superior I express our sincere condolences to Don's wife, family and friends."
