The plan is based on the Integrated Diamond model that stands as a bold prevention, intervention and reintegration reintegration /re·in·te·gra·tion/ (-in-te-gra´shun) 1. biological integration after a state of disruption. 2. restoration of harmonious mental function after disintegration of the personality in mental illness. strategy ensuring that youths throughout New York state have the opportunity to experience justice and fair play. It calls for building Youth Development Living and Learning Centers that will target three groups: all youth for prevention; the intervention group for those who already exhibit high risk behavior; and the pre-release and reintegration of youths under 17-years-old and youths 17 and older who are serving sentences in adult facilities. "I am so pleased with all the hard work the Justice & Fair Play Committee put into this plan," King said. "I am moved by this plan and I am going to pledge $1 million to be paid over a five year period to continue the development and implementation of the program." The event unveiling the plan to King, also included the kick-off of the fundraising drive for the flagship Youth and Development Living & Learning Centers. A Youth Opportunities Foundation will be established for the purpose of receiving monies for the development and operation of the centers.
