: CIEN CIEN Ciena Corporation (stock symbol) ) today announced that Don H. Davis, Jr., chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of Rockwell Automation, has joined CIENA's board of directors.

In addition to the Rockwell Automation board, Davis is a member of the board of directors of Illinois Tool Works Illinois Tool Works or ITW (NYSE: ITW) is a Fortune 500 company that produces engineered fasteners and components, equipment and consumable systems, and specialty products. It was founded in 1912 by Byron L. Smith, and three other men Frank W. England, Paul B.  and Apogent Technologies. He is also a member of the Business Council, the Business Roundtable Business Roundtable (BRT), an association consisting of the chief executive officers of major U.S. corporations that was founded in 1972 through the merger of the three preexisting business organizations. , and The Conference Board.

Mr. Davis earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and an M.B.A. from Texas A&M University.
