Unitarian Rev Christopher Hudson said the warrant should be dropped given the 75-year-old's huge contribution to securing peace. More than 75 people including TDs, senators and trade unionists have signed a petition demanding the request be thrown out. Mr Garland, who is being treated for cancer, angina and diabetes, is wanted along with six others on charges of counterfeiting dollar notes between 1980 and 2000 in an alleged scam involving North Korea.
