A forested area in which pine trees predominate. Forest, 390,000 hectares of Crown land located 70 kilometres west of Timmins. As an important supply for Domtar's Timmins Sawmill and Gogama Forest Products Sawmill in Ostrom, the forest is managed under the authority of a Sustain-able Forest License (SFL SFL - System Function Language. It is now Domtar's intent to proceed with FSC certification for some of their other Ontario Crown Licenses.

FSC certification promotes natural resource conservation, regeneration and sustainability. The FSC is an international, independent, not-for-profit organization made up of social, environmental, and business representatives.
