Dominion Has $60,000 up for Grabs in Community Impact Awards.Business Editors CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 29, 2003 Dominion dominion, power to rule, or that which is subject to rule. East Ohio is seeking local projects that have promoted the economic or social revitalization re·vi·tal·ize tr.v. re·vi·tal·ized, re·vi·tal·iz·ing, re·vi·tal·iz·es To impart new life or vigor to: plans to revitalize inner-city neighborhoods; tried to revitalize a flagging economy. of communities for the ninth annual Community Impact Awards competition. A total of $60,000 in unrestricted grants will be awarded. The program, sponsored by Dominion and Inside Business Magazine, recognizes cities and community organizations that have made major contributions to the economic and social revitalization of communities within the Dominion East Ohio service territory. Entry deadline is Nov. 3, 2003. Winners will share in the $60,000 from the Dominion Foundation. The Guidelines:
-- Project must have been completed between July 2002 and August
2003.
-- Project must have made a major contribution to the economic or
social revitalization of communities in northeast Ohio.
-- Project must be located within the Dominion East Ohio service
area.
-- Organizations must be 501c(3) or have an eligible fiscal
agent.
To Enter:
-- Submit a brief summary--no more than three typewritten
pages--of the project. Support materials, such as photos,
press clippings or literature that represents the project can
also be included. Submit all material in a three-ring binder.
The following judging criteria should be used as a basis for
the summary:
1. Give a brief description/history of the community or
organization.
2. Describe the project the community or organization completed to
promote economic and/or social revitalization. Include objectives,
benefits, impact and measurable results and community
interests/involvement.
3. To what extent did the project generate positive change and
growth within its targeted area?
4. How many people were impacted/served by this project?
5. How will the results of this project encourage and promote
future development and revitalization?
6. Community impact: What effect has the project had in terms of
jobs, spending and taxes?
