Dominion Energy Names Retired Navy Chief as Senior Vice President.

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2000

Dominion Energy has named Admiral Jay L. Johnson Admiral Jay L. Johnson, USN, is a retired United States Navy officer who served from 1996-2000 as 26th Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). He succeeded to the position following the death of Admiral Jeremy M. Boorda.  senior vice president, effective September 18.

Johnson initially will be responsible for designing and implementing a new continuous improvement program. The program will streamline and enhance the operational effectiveness of processes throughout core operations and administrative support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  at Dominion Energy, its parent company and other Dominion subsidiaries.

 and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1996 until his retirement in July. He served as commander of the U.S. Second Fleet from 1994 to 1996 and as commander of the USS Theodore Roosevelt Three ships in the United States Navy have been named USS Theodore Roosevelt after President Theodore Roosevelt.

Johnson graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1968 and served two combat tours of duty as a naval aviator in Vietnam. He held various squadron and fleet commands and onshore senior administrative assignments throughout his 32-year naval career.
