Domain registry for sale. (Headlines).


On December 31, 2002, the .org registry, which is home to many associations and nonprofit organizations' Web sites internationally, will be up for sale in a bidding process that will see the registry switch hands to a new managing organization. The U.S. Commerce Department, to help ensure healthy competition in the market, created the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers See ICANN.
