:DG) announced the appointment of Earl Weissert as Executive Vice President of Operations and Jeff Sims as Vice President of Logistics.

Weissert has been in retailing for more than 35 years. Prior to joining Dollar General, he was Senior Vice President of Store Operations for Zellers Discount Stores, a $5 billion chain of stores in Canada. His experience also includes serving as Executive Vice President of Marketing, Merchandising and Operations for Montgomery Ward's Lechmere division. During his tenure with F&M Distributors, from 1986 to 1995, Weissert's responsibilities included store operations, distribution, real estate, finance, MIS and human resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees. . Weissert attended the University of Pittsburgh.

Sims joins Dollar General from Hills Department Stores Hills Department Store was a Canton, Massachusetts-based department store chain that existed from 1957 to 1999. History

The library has extensive collections in literature and American history, including the William Holmes McGuffey Library and Museum and the Edgar W.  in Oxford, Ohio Oxford is a college town located in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio in northwestern Butler County in Oxford Township, originally called the College Township. The population was 21,943 at the 2000 census (approximately 16,000 students are included in this figure). . Sims was graduated from the University of Alabama The University of Alabama (also known as Alabama, UA or colloquially as 'Bama) is a public coeducational university located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA. Founded in 1831, UA is the flagship campus of the University of Alabama System.  with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Business Administration. He received his Ph.D. in Marketing & Logistics from Michigan State.

Dollar General is a chain of more than 3,687 neighborhood stores operating in 24 states, with distribution centers in Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Virginia.
