Doldrums end with a vengeance.

Byline: BUZZWORTHY The Register-Guard

To demonstrate what a daunting daunt

To abate the courage of; discourage. See Synonyms at dismay.

[Middle English daunten, from Old French danter, from Latin
task you have ahead in choosing things to do, we shall test our limited abilities to quantify things.

How many fun things are there to do this weekend? Let us count the ways, based on our all-encompassing Ticket Calendar, of course.

Today, there are 25 music shows, with an alternative country band from Canada, Nathan, leading the charge with an early show at Luna.

No one with a pulse can resist the beats and charms of Marv Ellis and His Imaginary Friends Imaginary Friend may refer to:
  • Imaginary friend, an invented person, animal or character
  • Imaginary Friend (band), a Finnish indie-pop group formed in 2004
  • "Imaginary Friend" (TNG episode), a fifth-season episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation
and fellow live band hip-hop group D-Fault. The two acts pair up tonight at the WOW Hall.

And Kidz Rock continues, with youthful musicians playing Cozmic Pizza today and Sam Bond's on Saturday.

There are also seven plays to choose from, an opera and a comedy show with two performances by Brian Regan For the USAF intelligence officer convicted of attempted espionage, see .

For the British actor and television presenter, see .

Brian Regan (pronounced REE-gan) is an American stand-up comedian.
.

There's even more music on Saturday, with - and we double-counted - 34 options out there.

Our highest recommendation goes out to the concert with Railroad railroad or railway, form of transportation most commonly consisting of steel rails, called tracks, on which freight cars, passenger cars, and other rolling stock are drawn by one locomotive or more.  Earth and the Duhks at the McDonald Theatre. The Duhks are on the leading edge of making old-time and traditional music oh-so-hip. Check it out at an in-store appearance at 4 p.m. at CD World.

Other Saturday highlights include the Deadwood Deadwood, city (1990 pop. 1,830), seat of Lawrence co., W S.Dak.; settled 1876 after discovery of gold. A Black Hills tourist center, it is also a trade hub for a lumbering, stock-raising, and mining region.  Revival at the Axe and Fiddle, Amadan at John Henry's and at Tsunami Books, folker Brian Cutean.

The plays and the opera are the same Saturday as today, but on Saturday you've got ballet instead of comedy.

Some highlights for the rest of the week: Girlyman on Sunday at John Henry's; Greyboy Allstars co-headlining with Toots toots
n. Slang
Babe; sweetie.

[Perhaps short for tootsie.]
& the Maytals on Tuesday at the McDonald; and the Yonder yon·der
adv.
In or at that indicated place: the house over yonder.

adj.
Being at an indicated distance, usually within sight: "Yonder hills," he said, pointing.
Mountain String Band on Wednesday at the McDonald.
