research released today by the Gilroy Garlic Festival The Gilroy Garlic Festival is one of the largest food festivals in the United States, held annually in Gilroy, California on the last full weekend in July at Christmas Hill Park. The Gilroy Garlic Festival is considered by some to be the best garlic festival in the world.  2000.

Festival 2000 President Jim Habing announced today that the three-day event three-day event

regarded by international news media as "America's premier food festival" attracted paid admissions of 123,048, the second highest total in five years but nearly 3,700 short of last year's record gate.

"That's the good news," Habing said. "The even better news is that 3,000 less people consumed more of everything!"

Enthused by weather conditions milder than the mid-90s temperatures predicted earlier in the week, attendees came in throngs and remained longer.

"Normally Festival guests will go directly to Gourmet Alley, get something to eat, then attend a concert and leave if the conditions become too warm," Habing explained. "But similar to last year, our guests ate early, apparently danced enough to work up another appetite, then ate one more time before leaving."

The three-day Festival attracted visitors and news media coverage from Asia, Europe and Africa in addition to print or electronic media representation from 41 American states. Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, The Garlic Festival The Garlic Festival is a fundraising event that is held on the Isle of Wight.

"We want our guests to know who their hosts are and what becomes of their support of our cause. When the guy from Dallas bought an order of scampi at Gourmet Alley the quality of living in our community got bumped up again."
