Dodgers to be shamed.
Fire crews were called to a Chinese restaurant in North Shields after an electrical fire sent smoke pouring into the dining room. The restaurant, on Bedford Street, was closed while fire crews fought the small blaze.
BOLLARDS could be installed in a main road in Tynemouth to stop cars parking on the footpaths. North Tyneside Council is considering erecting bollards to save damage to the pavement after complaints from residents on Front Street.
Anti arson bid
FIRE prevention has been given a boost in North Tyneside after the Government announced funding to set up an Arson Task Force. Welcoming the news Tynemouth MP Alan Campbell said: "Arson is a major problem and there have been many examples in recent years, particularly at schools."
