Dodgers and LADWP Team Up for Concert at El Sereno Middle School; Dodgers Alex Cora and Maury Wills Reward Students for Outstanding Achievements.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2003

Hundreds of student leaders from El Sereno Middle School were recognized today for their academic, scholastic and community service achievements during an entertaining "Dodger Jams" school assembly, sponsored by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is the largest municipal utility in the United States, serving 3.9 million residents in 2006. It was founded in 1902 to deliver water and electricity supplies to residents and businesses in Los Angeles.  (LADWP LADWP Los Angeles Department of Water and Power ).

 to continue their academic excellence and local community involvement. The Dodgers also delivered the Dodgers' "T.E.A.M." - (Teamwork, Effort, Attitude and Motivation) message. Following the motivational session, the youngsters were treated to performances by local musicians and dancers.

"It's very important to recognize the achievements of our young leaders, and I salute the LADWP for providing these students with this positive experience."

The LADWP's Water Wise exhibit was also on-hand at today's event with members of LADWP's Speakers Bureau providing the students with literature to educate them about water conservation and the wise use of electricity.
