Doddy launches his book.


LEGENDARY comedian Ken Dodd Kenneth Arthur Dodd OBE (born 8 November 1927, in Knotty Ash, Liverpool), better known as Ken Dodd, is a veteran English comedian and singer, famous for selling over 100 million records, his buck teeth, frizzy hair, feather duster (or "tickling stick"), and his catchphrases,  launched his first book in the ECHO building.

Just days before he celebrates 55 years in showbusiness, Ken armed with tickling sticks in hand launched Look At It My Way.

 Ash welcomed fans to Old Hall Street with the line "What a build-up, I can hardly wait to hear what I'm going to say."

He was introduced by the ECHO's former picture editor and award-winning photographer Stephen Shakeshaft, whose photos form most of the book.

"The criteria for including the photographs was to make you smile," explained the king of comedy. "There are little blurbs which I have written to go with each one."

He told fans last night: "You can use the book as a doorstop doorstop - Used to describe equipment that is non-functional and halfway expected to remain so, especially obsolete equipment kept around for political reasons or ostensibly as a backup. "When we get another Wyse-50 in here, that ADM 3 will turn into a doorstop."
